Rick has been studying satsuki azaleas with Japanese masters for over 20 years. Since 2004 he has travelled to Japan twice yearly to work with his instructor. In 2011 he started a business (North American Satsuki Bonsai Center) focused on selling satsuki bonsai and related products. Additionally, he offers classroom training at his facility discussing seasonal topics that are followed by hands-on work with student trees.
